A Norwegian company that provides rental equipment (fish containers) and services to support the seafood industry in the North Atlantic region.

Challenge

The client needed a centralized, user-friendly solution to monitor key business metrics—ranging from financial performance to user engagement—without relying on time-consuming manual Excel reports. Their goal was to gain real-time visibility into business operations and make data-driven decisions with minimal technical overhead.

Cooperation

The Enginerasoft Dev team developed a set of dynamic, thematic dashboards using Power BI, integrated with Python and C# to meet complex data visualization and querying requirements. Dashboards were organized into multiple categories: transactions, stock levels, user metrics, and more—each tailored to specific aspects of the client’s operations.

Through close collaboration with the client and a series of structured workshops, we jointly defined key analytics goals and identified the "North Star" metrics. Leveraging our long-term partnership and domain expertise, we also proposed additional metrics and dashboard components that aligned with the client’s operational needs and industry-specific challenges.

The implementation included:

• Custom visualizations in Power BI
• Python scripts for advanced charting not supported by Power BI natively
• Azure Functions written in C# to handle complex, performance-optimized database queries
• Seamless deployment to the client’s Power BI workspace in Azure, giving them full control and access from any device—including iPads

Results

The client now enjoys real-time access to critical business insights without the need for manual data manipulation or separate frontend/backend development. The built-in Power BI editor significantly reduced delivery time and cost, eliminating the need for dedicated UI and QA teams.

Thanks to this solution, the client can now monitor business health on the go, access deep analytics instantly, and respond to operational needs faster and with more confidence.
